“Maybe it is right and everything else is wrong,” Evie was breath was unsteady as she spoke. She looked over at Soda when he questioned her, “We didn’t do anything when you got beat up.” Evie stated, she knew that wasn’t what he meant but it was how she chose to respond.
Evie ran her fingers through Soda’s hair when he kissed her again. She let her mind run dry, only Soda on her mind because that was what was happening then. She would think about everything later.Her fingers through his hair felt electric. He closed his eyes and let passion take over. He had wanted to do this for such a long time, and had many chances, none of which seemed so right. He pulled away gasping for breath. “She’s breath taking.” He laughed. “Electrifying” And kissed her again. “Everything i could ever dream of”
Evie couldn’t help but smile, she fought with her lungs to take in more air and to keep itself evan. She looked up and Soda, her lips slightly parted to let the air go through. Evie laughed with Soda, it stopped when he kissed her again.
Evie smiled and started to turn red, listening to what Soda had to say. She wanted to ask when he started to like her, but she thought it’d be rude and that she shouldn’t question it, “it’s like i’m in a dream and at any moment, i’m going to wake up. And when I do i’ll cry in frustration.”“I promise you, this is no dream.” He smiled and gently pinched her arm. “see, no dream.” He laughed and kissed her again, his hands running up and down her back. “dont wake up,” He whispered, in between electrifying kisses.
Evie never quite felt this way before, she felt light and carefree. She flinched when Soda pinched her, she pinched him back softly. She nodded her head a bit, “I won’t.” Evie reconnected their lips. She ran her fingers through Soda’s hair again, even though she hated the feel of grease, she didn’t care.
“I love you, Evie. God, i’ve waited too long to say that. From the first time i met you, ya dig?” He cuddled her close and whispered in her ear. “I love you.”
“Was it because I shared my apple with you?” Evie grinned, wondering if Soda remembered the day she gave him some of her apple cause he dropped his on the ground.
“I love you too Soda,” Evie’s voice was quiet, she bit her bottom lip and made herself comfortable in Soda’s arms.“yeah, sure. It was the apple.” He laughed and tickled her. “The apple.” He scoffed, then kissed the top of her head.
“Hey, it coulda been, you were crazy, you went off and told everybody how I shared my apple,” Evie laughed and squirmed, trying to get him to stop tickling her. Evie smiled when he kissed the top of her head, she looked at him then kissed his cheek.
Soda sighed as if a large weight had been dropped on his shoulders. “What the hell are we gonna do, Evie?” He closed his eyes and rubbed his face. “What are we doing.” It wasn’t a question, but he wanted an answer. He truly loved Evie, but if Steve found out, he would probably beat him so bad he would keel over. The gang would change. It wouldn’t be normal any more.
“I-I dunno,” Evie hadn’t expected the question. She looked at Soda, she had found out so many things that she wouldn’t have known if she Steve didn’t get himself in the cooler. Everything came back to Steve. Evie shifted, biting her bottom lip softly. She wasn’t sure about anything anymore. She knew she loved Soda but if they ignored it and she just stuck around with Steve she wouldn’t be able to look at any of the gang, “why don’t you tell me?” Evie found her question a bit rude, “I mean-sorry.”
Soda looked at her, smiled and cuddled her. “mmm.. thats ok. I just dont wanna get my head beat in, that’s all. Again.” He nudged her. He thought for a second. “Maybe….” He frowned a little in concentration. “Maybe… do you think you and Steve could have an argument so bad, you could dump ‘im?” He shook his head, realising that comment was completely out of line. “Im sorry. That was wrong. You cant do that. He might hurt you.” He hugged her close, reigniting the electricity he had felt when they were kissing.
“Hell, I could dump him for what he did to you earlier,” Evie let her eyes shut, going over every argument her and Steve ever had, “Everytime we argue we always dump eachother-didn’t Steve ever tell you that?” Evie wondered if Steve had ever bothered telling anybody when she dumped him for two weeks at a time and he came back to her and apologized.
Evie got tingles when Soda hugged her, she smiled a bit and opened her eyes to look at him.
“He didn’t say anything.” Her comment struck a chord in him. His eyes went stony and he had a sudden urge to beat the living crap out of Steve. His fists clenched and his head started thumping. “Not a damn thing.” He wasn’t sure what made him so angry about the whole thing. Maybe it was because Steve had hurt Evie, or he had so many chances to make his move before.
Evie looked at Soda and touched his cheek, she whispered softly, “calm down. You guys never noticed I was gone for exceeding amounts of time?” Evie raised an eyebrow. She remembered once when Soda and Steve had gotten into a small fight Steve claimed Soda went on vacation and hung around with her for a week. Perhaps Steve had done the same thing. It had taken her a few days to figure out Soda wasn’t really on vacation; Steve showed up at her house to wake her up every morning.”I just thought he woulda said something about it.”
When Evie touched his cheek, the pain and anger melted away. “Im sorry. That really bugged me. Shoot.” He smiled a little bit and kissed her again. “im sorry.”
